Sharjah is the third largest of the seven emirates and considered to be the cultural capital of the Middle East. The map of Sharjah is located between Dubai and Ajman. It was earlier a part of a single emirate with Ras Al Khaimah. The city under the guidance of His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, has earned itself the title of the ‘cultural capital’ of the UAE.

The city is a combination of old and new. The map of Sharjah, lying on the Arabian Gulf, is chock-a-block with modern waterfront hotels, beautiful mosques, lakefront apartment buildings, restaurants, and well laid-out parks and gardens all pave way for sharjah pleasant holidays.  Sharjah renowned for its souks, both traditional and new, is a virtual treat for bargain hunters. But arguably Sharjah's greatest draw is its local history, preserved at its very best in several well-maintained museums. Outside museums, the Mileiha site gives visitors a chance to see fossils as old as 80 million years. Ignore the nay-sayers and take a day off from the busy city life and visit a place that has some of the finest Arab, Islamic and wildlife research in the world.

During a visit to the city the visitors will find the map of Sharjah with some of the most interesting architecture in the country. There is an archeological museum, numerous examples of traditional watchtowers, a natural history museum and souks giving competition to any other in the region, which are as good a place as any to buy carpets from Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan. The Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority have made efforts to encourage tourism and circulate information about the emirate's tourist attractions among the visitors. Moreover number of projects have been under taken to develop tourism in Sharjah and the emirate's cities on the East Coast.

Sharjah was once famous for holding the Sharjah Cup, the one day international cricket matches but today it is not held. Moreover for Sharjah pleasant holidays, it houses some important oases, the most famous of which is Dhaid where a wide range of vegetables and fruits are cultivated on its rich and fertile soil. Tourists find Khor Fakkan a tourist spot an interesting spot and provides Sharjah with a major east coast port.
